Surface technology has long been a key technology in the production of successful aluminium products. Complex requirements pertaining to corrosion protection, tool properties and design can all be satisfied by coating, painting or anodising.
The VOA (Verband für die Oberflächenveredelung von Aluminium e.V.) is an industry association forming the network of the surface finishing industry branch in Germany. The VOA campaigns and represents the interests of its members in economical, political and technical issues. The surface finishing industry branch is part of global supply chains, meaning the members should fulfill international quality standards. In order to maintain competitiveness, the VOA as general licensee offers the quality labels QUALANOD, QUALICOAT/QUALIDECO and assigns its own quality label QUALISTRIP.
With increasing competitive market companies often search for new ideas and innovations
that can give them a competitive advantage. Like the pioneers of ‘blue ocean thinking’ ideas
are often are not from innovating in terms of technology or science, but by looking at
familiar ‘standard’ processes from new perspectives. This paper will present some ideas for
improvement within the anodizing process and use case study results of customer
experiences collected globally.
How can trends of the Industry 4.0 concept be implemented for traditional Aluminum metal
pretreatment processes? With BONDERITE solutions these processes can be monitored as
they are online connected with the different stakeholder during the production process.
The best way of getting well educated employees is to provide apprenticeship training positions in the own company. It is often complained, that it is difficult to find candidates for an apprenticeship. In this presentation we will show different ways of finding candidates. We take a look at the two different apprenticeship- (job-) titles which are relevant in surface treatment of aluminium.
Competence Centre Surface Technology
Design meets functionality - Surface treatment of aluminium is bundled in the Competence Centre Surface Technology (supported by GSB and VOA).
