Firmenvorstellung

ALTEK is a technology-based company with specialist expertise in the supply, design, manufacture and installation of systems and process plants to increase profitability and efficiencies, and reduce operating costs using the best available technologies in the aluminium cast house. Our engineers have a wealth of international experience and are a unique skill resource for our worldwide customers.  With approximately 650 ALTEK machines and equipment installed in over 70 countries, ALTEK are exposed to a wide array of processes and techniques and have a great understanding of customers’ requirements.

ALTEK was formed in the 1980s, inventing the dross press in the early 1990s. In 2009 ALTEK took over the TARDIS dross press business, combining the two different technologies to create the most advanced dross press systems available in the world, with over 400 dross press references worldwide.

In 2009 ALTEK launched their Electromagnetic Stirring range with great success, and have subsequently become world leaders and the preferred supplier of this technology to many companies around the world.  ALTEK have developed several new applications around this technology over recent years which are unique to ALTEK, including automated scrap/chip submergence systems to both submerge and circulate the furnace at the same time, the world’s 1st ‘curved’ electromagnetic stirrer technology for dome furnace applications, and a modified design for furnace applications with very little space for installation.

ALTEK’s new launch of their salt slag recycling plant technology, AluSalt™, is the last piece in the jigsaw for aluminium recycling process.  AluSalt™ technology allows for optimal in-house aluminium recovery,  salt reclamation, no third party processing fees and transportation costs, operational control and importantly residual oxides that can be sold as products.

In May 2018, The Harsco Corporation completed the acquisition of the Altek group. The acquisition of ALTEK by HARSCO is driven by a strategic move to grow their environmental solutions business and expand their capabilities in industrial waste management services. This is a very exciting time for ALTEK, with a great opportunity for growth as HARSCO has committed to support the strategic plan of ALTEK.

It is ALTEK’s mission to provide customers with the best technology and knowledge, to meet their needs through a deep understanding of their production processes, operation, equipment and operational cost and profitability requirements.  To use their process and engineering expertise to provide technical solutions to current issues faced in the aluminium industry.
