After China, India and Brazil, ALUMINIUM will also enter the market in Dubai with an event of its own from 2009 onwards. Building on ALUMEX, hitherto the biggest fair for the industry in the Middle East, ALUMINIUM DUBAI will concentrate on the dynamic prospects of the aluminium industry in the region with an improved concept, bringing together global suppliers of products and technologies with international purchasers and regional investors. In future, the exhibition area of ALUMINIUM DUBAI is to be increased significantly and its appearance upgraded. At the same time, its international character is to be strengthened. The last ALUMEX took place with app. 100 exhibitors on an area of more than 3,000 sqm.

ALUMINIUM DUBAI is to display the value chain of the aluminium industry with tailor-made focuses on equipment for primary production, downstream and investments. With the fair, to be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from 29th to 31st March 2009, the global ALUMINIUM programme will be extended to include yet another major business location. Large aluminium smelters are at present under construction in the Gulf region with a view to increasing capacities: Dubai is a fast-growing market for aluminium production and one of the world’s largest industrial centres for global aluminium production and refining. Currently, the Gulf states account for 4 % of the world’s aluminium production with an expected increase to 10% by 2010 (Source: German Office for Foreign Trade).

With ALUMINIUM DUBAI, Reed Exhibitions is expanding its global activities in the field of specialised aluminium trade fairs. With the world fair ALUMINIUM in Germany (Essen), ALUMINIUM CHINA in Shanghai as well as Expo ALUMINIUM BRAZIL in Sao Paulo and the new ALUMINIUM INDIA Reed Exhibitions is already present in the world’s four most important aluminium markets. Expansion into Dubai now adds a fifth.
