Research Forum

Fraunhofer Institute for Production Engineering and Applied Material Research – IFAM in Bremen is supporting current developments in the industry with its research work and is a key partner when it comes to putting ideas into practice. The RESEARCH FORUM at ALUMINIUM 2008 offers an excellent platform to the research institutes, boosting communication between industry and research. Current work will be showcased and the researchers will be listening carefully to the needs of industry. At the RESEARCH FORUM the IFAM will be presenting innovative aluminium-based work and provide an insight into the activities of the Fraunhofer Society. We will be exhibiting die-cast aluminium parts with integrated RFIDs and piezoceramics, open and closed-pore aluminium foams, hybrid cast aluminium-synthetic parts, lightweight construction developments made from an aluminium-hollow glass ball composite and applications in the field of adhesion and surface technology for aluminium. - Technologies which exploit and enhance the benefits of aluminium.
